Langley COP

Langley Community Outreach Program (LCOP) is an outreach program that connects people to community resources to enhance the health, independence and quality of life for participants with multiple barriers, special needs, or diminished opportunities living in Langley and Aldergrove.

Service is primarily one-to-one. Community Outreach Counsellors work with participants to identify their strengths and then together with the Employment and Assistance Worker, build a personal plan that works toward achieving goals.

PROGRAM FEATURES

The program offers one to one support and provides access to information, computers, phones, events, groups and an array of activities to inform and keep everyone involved.  
  • One-to-one case management and support
    • Development of goal oriented personal plan
    • Referrals to community resources
    • Transportation services
    • Follow-up services

  • Counsellors can also help in the following areas:
    • Identifying low cost food and clothing resources
    • Housing support
    • Replacement of ID
    • Researching and accessing education/training/volunteer opportunities
    • Accessing community recreation programs

  • A 1-month Personal Skills Enhancement Program is also available to all participants.  Some of the topics covered are:
    • Time Management
    • Budgeting Skills
    • Communication Skills
    • Conflict Resolution
    • Basic Computer Skills
