Immediate Response Program

The Immediate Response Program is a quick-solution focused intervention service for children, youth and their families. It has been developed to help families come up with solutions to problems that will enable them to live together successfully.

The program's objective is to support everyone in the family by dealing with concerns promptly and in a way that encourages the family to be connected to their community.

• Provide support to you when you need it
• Help you connect to other resources in your community
• Help you not feel alone or isolated
• Help you learn how to practice a safe and healthy lifestyle
• Help you increase your knowledge of personal strengths, needs and abilities

Program Organization:

A counsellor arranges to meet with you once a referral has been made by your social worker or probation officer. Hours are flexible and designed to meet your needs.

ACCESS
Surrey Ministry of Children and Family Development (MCFD) Social Workers or Probation Officers will make referrals to the Program.
WHAT CAN I EXPECT IN THIS PROGRAM?
86.4% of families that completed the program in 2009 reported that they had increased their connection to community supports and/or were able to demonstrate an increased ability to resolve conflict without outside intervention.
