BYRC Housing

Our mission is to assist youth with the task of seeking, finding and securing safe and affordable housing.

This program is for you, if...

  • You are homeless, couch surfing or looking for a new place?
  • You are in a program or working?
  • You are able to pay some rent?
  • You are not actively using?

Propgram Features

BYRC Housing Support and Assistance Program will help you:

  • Lists of current available rentals
  • Use of telephone, fax, internet
  • Local newspapers
  • Access to a one-to-one worker to assist with advocacy and outreach
  • Assistance and support in getting to housing related appointments (ie. bus tickets)
  • Housing 101 workshop once a month
  • Phone messaging service
  • Assistance with applying to Low Income Housing
  • Moving/storage information
  • Emergency shelter listings
  • Information on tenant legal rights
  • Housing start-up kits

The BYRC Scattered Site Housing Program offers: 

The BYRC Scattered Site Housing offers supported housing to youth aged 16-24 in suites in multiple locations across the city. We actively seek out co-operative landlord agency relationships to create new affordable housing opportunities for youth in Vancouver.

Current housing options through our program include:

  • 1 Bedroom apartments
  • 2 Bedroom suites for young parents and families
  • Shared accommodation suites
  • Shared accomodation housing with live-in staff
  • Housing for youth with active barriers to housing such as addictions and/or mental health concerns
  • Subsidized housing

 The housing team works together to try and expand the housing services we provide in order to address the unique needs of Vancouver's youth.

Workers can set up appointments to meet with you Monday to Friday between 9:00am and 7:00pm.

Youth ages 13 to 24 years

Staff will help youth find secure, safe, and affordable housing while attaining skills for long-term housing.
