SUMMARY
The Vietnamese Youth Development Program (VYDP) assists Vietnamese youth age 12 to 24 and their families with integration into Canadian Society and assists in preventing involvement in entrenched marginal or illegal activities.
The VYDP identifies needs and concerns in order to develop and implement relevant accessible social, education, recreation, leadership and volunteer programs for youth. The VYDP worker provides assessment, short-term counselling, re-referral, and support for Vietnamese youth to access other services.
Programming supports youth to move away from risk-taking activities, builds confidence, engages them in peer support and provides necessary guidance to become active and positive members of both the Vietnamese and broader communities
