Surrey Youth Housing Program


The Surrey Youth Housing Program offers one-to-one support to youth aged 16-19 who are seeking or looking to maintain housing in Surrey.  This program is staffed with a Youth Housing worker, who is available to provide housing support. 

 

Program Features

Goals of the Progam:  To assist and advocate for the youth of Surrey in finding, securing and maintaining safe, affordable and appropriate housing.  Secondly, we will work to improve relationships between youth and landlords in the community by facilitating understanding and life skill development.

What we offer:

  • Listings of affordable housing
  • Use of telephone, fax and Internet
  • Local newspapers
  • Housing related advocacy and outreach services
  • Referrals to housing workshops
  • Landlord message forwarding
  • Centralized roommate finder service
  • Info on tenant legal rights
  • Resource info for homeless youth

Some things to consider when looking for a place to live:

  • What can you afford?
  • What kind of place do you want?
  • Where do you want to live?
  • Do you want a roommate?
  • Are you respectful of other people's property?
